Storm Éowyn Damages Our Off-Grid Cabin!
Hi folks.
What a sad few days it’s been. Apparently, Irelands worst storm in 80 years with new record wind speeds set. It was scary stuff. I think Sam hasn’t been that frightened for a long time.
Since then Sam, bless him, has been putting in some serious hours with the fire service. I often couldn’t get hold of him until after midnight, and he was unsurprisingly exhausted.
Our off grid caravan is luckily still watertight, but you can definitely feel the cold difference without the insulation and steel roof.
It’s heartbreaking how much work Sam put into fitting that roof over a year ago, only for it to be ripped apart in minutes.
Still we are grateful that he & the animals were all unharmed.
